About

Shipping, Payment, and Return Questions

When Will I Receive My Order?
The shipping time on your order will depend on the product in question. Generally, you can expect to receive the order within six weeks. While that is a longer shipping time than with some other items you purchase, we promise it will be well worth the wait.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
Yes, we are happy to accept returns or exchanges within 14 days of the delivery day. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer returns or exchanges on items that are visibly worn.

How do returns and exchanges work?
Our return and exchange policy is simple. Reach out to customer service, provide your order number, and explain if you would like a refund or exchange. You’ll be given a prepaid shipping label which you can use at a FedEx or UPS store to send the item back. We will review the condition of the item when it arrives and then either send out the new product or process your refund.

How can an order be cancelled?
You may cancel your order within two hours of placing it. If you happen to need to cancel your order within 48 hours, simply contact customer service at shoes@limcollection.com as soon as possible and we will be happy to assist.

How long do refunds take to process?
We will need to receive the item and confirm that it is in unworn condition before a refund can be processed. We’ll do that within three business days of receiving the shipment. If the item is unworn, we will process the return and it will typically take between four and seven business days to be reflected on your account. If you don’t see your refund appear after a week has passed, feel free to contact us so we can investigate further.

How much is shipping?
All orders within and outside the United States include free shipping and free returns.

Can I track my order?
Yes – you will automatically receive a tracking number from our team once your order has been shipped. You can contact customer service for more information.

Why is my card charged when I place my order?
In order to order from Lim Collection, you will need to pay for the order at the time it is placed, rather than when the item is received. You are committing to purchase this item, and we are going to create the item for you based on the details of the order. This is the same as many other types of purchases you make, such as booking a flight in advance of a trip. Remember, if you wish to cancel the order, simply contact us and we will be able to help.

Are wire transfers, cash, or checks accepted for payment?
No, we are not able to accept any of those forms of payment for your order.

Can I change my shipping address?
If the need arises to change your shipping address, please contact customer services as soon as possible. You can change your own shipping address on your account for future orders, but if an order has already been placed, customer service will need to make that change.

However, mailing addresses cannot be changed if the shipping process has been initiated, sometimes even before you receive any shipping notification. Rest assured, we will do our utmost to change your address as best we can.

Is it possible to expedite an order?
We don’t offer rush orders, and we don’t have any inventory on hand to sell. Our quality products are created using more than 150 manual steps, meaning the process can’t be expedited.

FAQ

Can I contact Lim Collection?
For our Customer Service department, reach out to use Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, or send us an email at shoes@limcollection.com

Do you offer bespoke shoes?
Currently, we don’t offer any bespoke shoe services, but you can rely on our products to be true to size and to nicely conform to the shape of your feet.

How do you handle environmental matters with your business?
We have put in place five guiding principles that help us reduce our impact on the environment while providing our customers unbeatable service at the same time.

  1. Build Lasting Products
One of the biggest sources of waste is products that are used for only a short period before they are thrown out. With Lim Collection, you’ll be getting products that you can continue to wear year after year, meaning far fewer shoes will be going into the landfill as a result of your purchase.
  2. Promoting Thoughtful Consumption
Given the made-to-order nature of our products, we deal in quality rather than volume. Again, this decreases waste and also ensures that our customers get great products.
  3. Remove Harmful Toxins
We are careful about what goes into our products, and we avoid harmful toxins in our process. Some of the things we use to protect the environment include natural waxes, water-based solvents, and vegetable anilines.
  4. Minimize Energy Consumption
All production processes require the use of some energy, but we pay close attention to using resource efficiently to cut down on waste. Also, by only making products when they are ordered, wasted inventory is eliminated.
  5. Monitor Our Carbon Footprint
We are committed to continually improving our environmental position to make sure we are good stewards of the resources that we use. It’s an ongoing commitment that will require us to stay on top of new technologies and techniques to do our part for the earth.

Revolutionary Footbed Technology (BFT)

There are two main concerns to consider when buying a new pair of shoes – the look and the feel. Lim Collection shoes are sure to grab your attention with their impressive aesthetics, but why are they so comfortable? Allow us to introduce you to the Biomechanical Footbed Technology – or BFT – that is included in their design. Thanks to BFT, Lim Collection shoes help your feet feel great while looking sharp at the same time.

Start at the Back

The heel cup that is included in BFT is a big part of why the shoes are so supportive throughout the day. To understand why a good heel cup is important, you need to understand the basics of how your heel is shaped and how it works.

  • Matching shape. It’s uncomfortable to walk on a flat surface for very long because that flat shape doesn’t match the natural curve of the bottom of your heel. To create a cradle, BFT includes a heel cup that is rounded and deep enough to hold your heel as you walk.
  • A layered structure. What is your heel made of? There are several components that make up your heel, from the bone on the inside to the skin on the surface. The fat pad between those two elements pads your steps and serves as a shock absorber. Too much walking on hard surfaces can cause your fat pad to be reduced, so use supportive shoes to maintain that layer and keep your foot healthy.
  • Movement. The natural gait for humans when walking is to have the heel hit the ground first. Given how many steps the average person takes during a day, the heel is going to face a lot of abuse – or supporting it with a properly formed cradle keeps your foot in a good position and protects the heel from wear and tear.

ARCH SUPPORT

The comfortable experienced offered by Lim Collection is owed to the contours created through the Biomechanical Footbed Technology. When the three BFT components come together – the heel cup, arch profile, and forefoot support – the end result is an incredible experience for your feet.

It only makes sense to have a three-dimensional footbed for your shoes, since the bottom of your feet are three-dimensional, as well. Nowhere is this more important than the arch support that is provided by the footbed.

  • Dynamic support. It’s crucial to support your foot in an optimal position as you walk. Comfortable feet are one of the key pieces in overall wellbeing, but they are overlooked more often than not. Good arch support plays a major role in maintaining the position of your foot and preventing too much inward roll as you walk.
  • The right shape. Every foot, like every person, is unique. While the shape of our arches varies from one person to the next, everyone needs good arch support in their footwear to maintain a healthy position. If your foot rolls in too much in your gait, problems can arise and you may start to experience pain.
  • Using science. The feet are extremely complicated. This part of the body is made up of many little bones, ligaments, and muscles, and all of those components need to work together correctly step after step for a lifetime. The impact of hitting the ground with each step lowers the arch in your foot and loosens the whole structure. Then, as the foot comes off the ground, the foot stiffens again, and the process repeats. Good arch support helps keep this system working and prevent wear and tear from the stresses of daily life.

FOREFOOT SUPPORT

Many of the smallest components in your feet are found in the forefoot. While it’s easy to focus on the arch and the heel, don’t forget about the importance of the forefoot and the delicate nature of many of its parts. The Biomechanical Footbed Technology offered by Lim Collection Footwear does a great job of supporting this part of the foot in addition to the other areas.

• Continued curves. Nothing about any part of your foot is flat. This is why walking on flat surfaces is such a problem for humans, and why BFT can be such a boost for your foot health. There is a small arch that is formed by the metatarsals in your forefoot, and that arch will flatten if it isn’t supported while you walk.
• Muscles for structure. There are muscles that work with your metatarsals called plantar intrinsic muscles, and those are critical for keeping your foot in the right shape. Good footwear can help those muscles to do their job without weakening them along the way.
• Direct support. Lim Collection footwear has been designed intentionally to deliver the support that is needed to the forefoot arch section of your feet. That way, pressure is spread out over a wider area and the structure of your foot is held in place as you walk. Pain develops as a response to stresses, so using BFT to cut down on those stresses will naturally result in less pain.

Forefoot Support is Critical

Why is the Biomechanical Footbed Technology used by Lim Collection so important? It comes down to the complexities of your feet. With a collection of more than 100 muscles, and 26 bones that connect at 33 joints, there is a lot going on in your feet. Supporting the whole foot, including the forefoot, is an essential task for any shoe.

Shape

It’s easy enough to think of the ball of your foot as being relatively flat, but that’s not the case. This part of your foot also has an arch that is formed by the metatarsals. Like the bigger arch further back in your foot, this one will also flatten out when you walk on hard surfaces if it doesn’t get proper support.

Structure

There was once a line of thinking that believed the plantar intrinsic muscles - the muscles that are responsible for supporting the forefoot arch - would be weakened through the use of footwear. Now, that is no longer believed to be the case, so support shoes or sandals can help maintain the proper structure of your feet as you walk.

Science

We have intentionally included metatarsal support in our footwear to make sure the forefoot arch is supported and the pressure is spread out across the entire foot. Your foot will be held in the proper position as you walk and the repetitive stresses of daily life will be minimized and less likely to lead to pain.

A Game-Changing Heel Cup

Have you ever thought about what makes a comfortable sandal feel so comfortable? While there can be many factors involved, a great heel cup usually has something to do with it. Thanks to more than 40 years of experience in the manufacturing of foot orthotics, Lim Collection is able to leverage our Biomechanical Footbed Technology to make sure each and every customer has an enjoyable experience wearing our products.

BFT is about more than the heel cup, but it would be a mistake to overlook the important role this component plays.

Shape

The shape of the heel is such that is requires a matching heel cup to support it correctly while you walk. The heel bone is rounded, so walking on something that is completely flat will naturally be uncomfortable. Footwear that includes a rounded heel cup is a better fit for the human body and will be more comfortable.

Structure

Walking without a supportive heel cup is going to have the unwanted effect of flattening the fat bad that serves as a shock absorber for your foot. This is a particular problem for people who walk regularly on hard surfaces. With a good heel cup, such as the one that our BFT includes, you can avoid heel problems and keep your feet healthy for as long as possible.

Science

The natural pattern of your stride is also a reason that the heel cup is such an important part of footwear. Your heel is going to hit the ground first as you step forward, so it’s going to temporarily bear all of your weight while the stride rolls onto the front part of your foot. With proper heel support, everything else about your steps is going to work nicely, and it will be easier to steer clear of pain in your feet and lower legs.

Support Your Feet with Lim Collection Shoes

Most pairs of shoes feel more or less the same. If you try out a pair from Lim Collection, however, you’ll immediately notice a difference. Don’t let that different feeling put you off - it’s intentionally and it’s why these shoes can deliver a more supportive, comfortable experience than other pairs.

The footbed offered in Lim Collection shoes, known as BFT, is designed to match the natural shape of your foot. This differs from standard shoes that have a flat footbed. As a result, your feet will stay in an ideal position all day long and you’ll enjoy many benefits as a result.

Everyone deserves to wear a pair of comfortable shoes, but such shoes can be hard to find for many people. Lim Collection shoes put those frustrations to rest and deliver comfort and support that is on a higher level.

It’s best to gradually work your way into a pair of new Lim Collection shoes. For example, we recommend wearing them for a single hour on the first day, a couple of hours on the second day, and three hours on the third day. Soon enough, they will feel natural on your feet and you’ll love the experience.

The only way to test out the Lim Collections difference is to try a pair of these shoes for yourself. Get started today!

The Lim Collections Story

Unlike many businesses, we didn’t set out in this industry with a clear plan to make a profit. Instead, we had a specific point of view that we wanted to bring to the market.

Past experience with another leather goods brand exposed us to some of the unfortunate realities of the retail system. Simply put, we thought the system was broken, and we didn’t understand why it had to cost so much to buy (and sell) quality goods.

With our previous brand, retailers would sell our goods for as much as 10 times the production cost – meaning they were out of reach financially for many of our would-be customers. A big part of this markup came from the fact that a large portion of the inventory would never sell, so what did sell had to cover the losses on those other products.

It’s a system that thrives on waste, charges customers high prices, and requires incredible levels of output just to keep up. No one is better off with this structure, which is why we wanted to find another way to do it. Our commitment to quality was only made stronger, but we knew there had to be another way to connect with our audience.

We didn’t want to see our products marked up to the point where most people could afford to purchase them. That’s exactly the opposite of what we hoped to accomplish when getting started.

So, we flipped the system on its head and decided to take control of production from top to bottom. This way, we could deliver quality goods and outstanding customer experiences without having to charge sky-high prices at the same time. Instead of wholesaling our products to retail outlets, who would then add a massive markup, we decided to sell only online and straight to our customers.

We are thankful every day for having made this decision, and it’s changed our lives. It is our tremendous pleasure to serve the great customers that we have accumulated so far, and we hope that your Lim Collections shoes have a valued spot in your closet – and on your feet – for many years ahead.
Small Details Make a Huge Difference

Skilled Artisans

Our products are crafted by hand by master artisans who have years of experience in their trades. Not only do we aim to provide an outstanding experience for our customers, but also for the craftspeople who create our products.

The world is full of mass production, but that’s not how we do things at Lim Collection. Instead, we put great care into each order, and we ensure that the working conditions in our Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, studio are safe and fair.

You’ll Notice the Difference

We stand apart from the competition for many reasons. First and foremost, it’s the quality of our products that you’ll notice and appreciate, along with our surprisingly affordable prices and the care we take to have a positive impact on the world around us.

Using Traditional Methods

Our foot-shaped molds, known in the business at “lasts”, have been custom developed in-house to make sure our finished shoes are products that look great, are comfortable to wear, and can hold up to daily use for a long time to come.

The Right Materials

The leathers we use to create our shoes are sourced from tanneries in Argentina and Italy. These facilities have decades of experience and provide us with the level of raw materials needed to produce shoes that will stand the test of time.

Techniques That Last

When you buy a pair of quality shoes, those shoes should serve you for years to come. That’s what you can expect from Lim Collection thanks to the time-honored techniques that we still employ today.

Bringing It Together

The finishing touches on a pair of shoes can make all the difference. Our soles are carefully sanded and waxed, and the uppers are hand polished to create a finish that is second-to-none.

Durable Eyelets

On a pair of shoes that is supposed to last for years, all of the components need to be up to the challenge. We use brass grommets inside the eyelets to give them durability without taking away from the aesthetic of the shoe.

French Binding

Small details like a French binding – a strip of dark leather around the shoe’s collar – go a long way toward improving looks and performance. This piece solidifies the structure of the shoe and aids with durability while looking great at the same time.

Single-Piece Lining

The linings in Lim Collection shoes are cut from a single piece of Vachetta leather. This technique offers a great feeling to the interior of the shoe and helps to provide support to your foot’s natural shape as you walk.

Full Leather Soles

Vegetable tanned leather is used for heel stacks, outsoles, and midsoles in our shoes. The beauty and durability of this material is well-known, and while it is extremely durable, it’s also possible for it to be repaired if the need should arise.

Tapered Waist and a Stitched Sole

Using the proven Blake method, we stitch the outsole to the supper and insole instead of using glue. This allows a new sole to be applied to the shoe later, if needed, and we also taper the waist of the shoe to add support in the arch area.

Calfskin Leather

The natural appearance of calfskin leather has made it a popular pick for countless products over the years. As an added bonus, this material only gets better with age as it develops a patina and shows off its deep color.

How It Works

Our process serves everyone by producing high-quality shoes at fair prices while reducing waste along the way.

More Stitches for Strength
It might sound obvious, but the more stitches that are used in a shoe, the stronger that shoe will be. By using 10 stitches per inch, we create an incredibly tight bond that is going to hold up over the life of the shoe.

No Leather Joints
To save on costs, some companies joint small pieces of leather together to make a shoe. We don’t use that technique, and instead build our shoes with large, whole-cut pieces that look great and hold up over time.

Heels Made of Leather
The stacks we use for the heels of our shoes are made from vegetable tanned leather. This time-honored practice creates an incredibly durable heel that looks great and won’t become detached from the outsole.

Pride in Craftsmanship
We take great pride in not only the products we produce for our customers, but also in the way we treat our talented craftspeople and the world around us.

A Great Finish
Thanks to the high-end leather that is used for our shoes, you’ll notice a beautiful patina developing on the shoes as you wear them. The leather has been conditioned with shea butter and carnauba wax before you receive the shoes, and any marks that you pick up along the way can be resolved by using creams and conditioners meant for leather.

Sourcing Responsibly
There are many places to obtain leather in today’s market, but we only opt for sources that have been vetted and meet our standards for sustainability and fair business practices.

Careful Design
Even last inch of the shoes we sell to our customers has been carefully designed and thoughtfully organized to leave the wearer with something that feels as good as it looks.

Impact

Simply put, we are committed to making a positive difference in the world.

At Lim Collection, we believe that we are all responsible to each other and the environment around us. Part of operating a footwear brand is taking ownership of that responsibility and doing our part to be a positive force in the world. Plenty, or most, clothing companies don’t take responsibility for their actions, be we are committed to being different.

We aren’t interested in creating tons of excess waste or exploiting workers in the pursuit of the highest possible profits. Rather, we want to keep waste as low as possible, use fair labor practices, and deliver durable products to our customers.

Made to Last for Years
One of the best ways we can be responsible and protect the environment is to make products that aren’t going to be in the landfill anytime soon. We use durable materials, and proven techniques, to make sure we are producing shoes that will be on your feet for many years.

To make that happen, we have to allow our artisans the time necessary to use their skills to produce quality shoes. They aren’t rushed in that process, as handcrafting great shoes takes time and attention to detail. This is why we use a Made-to-Order business model. The shoes are only made after you order them, meaning waste is minimized and each pair that we produce gets the attention it deserves.

Core Beliefs

The core beliefs we have established for Lim Collection guide our actions.
1. All companies should do good in the world.
2. The way we operate should have a positive impact.
3. No product should be made without first having an owner.
4. Items should not only last, but improve with age.
5. The environment wins when products last as long as possible.
6. You can’t rush quality.
7. All workers should have the opportunity to rest and be happy.
8. The skilled craftspeople who create our products are the heart of the business.
9. Human dignity should never come in second behind business interests.
10. Quality, responsibly made products should be available to everyone.
11. Great service simply means treating other people with the respect they deserve.

Company

Managing Our Impact
It’s important for us as a brand to manage the impact we have on the environment and on the world as a whole. Lim Collection aims to be a good citizen and be a force for positive change rather than harm and consumption.

A Great Place to Work
There is no more important part of a business than the people who work within it. At Lim Collection, our environment is one of enjoyment, support, respect, and collaboration. We want everyone on our team to flourish and do their best work, and that will only happen when they are supported as people first and foremost.

Creating Lasting Products
Creating products that withstand trends and can be repaired, rather than replaced, is a fundamental aspect of our philosophy. Our collection is firmly rooted in timeless designs infused with a modern touch. We meticulously select materials prized for their durability, ensuring your Lim Collection items can be easily maintained and, if necessary, expertly repaired.

Eliminating Overproduction
We are dedicated to reducing overproduction and promoting conscientious consumption through our Made-To-Order (MTO) business model. This approach guarantees that every item we craft already has a designated owner, effectively eliminating excess production. Throughout the production process, you will receive email updates, allowing you to engage with our practices and become acquainted with the artisans behind our creations.

Ethical Manufacturing Only
We are committed to upholding ethical and responsible working conditions for the artisans who handcraft your goods, as they are the cornerstone of our company. It is our privilege and responsibility to honor their craftsmanship and dignity by providing secure and gratifying work environments, above-average wages, and comprehensive benefits packages for each of them.

A Reduced Impact on the Environment
In our quest to minimize or even reverse our environmental impact, we prioritize the use of materials that align with our values. While it may be challenging to find materials with absolutely zero environmental impact, we make a concerted effort to utilize ethically-produced materials processed with minimal toxins, repurposed from waste sources, or composed of natural fibers. We are continuously researching and testing new options to identify the most environmentally friendly materials available.

We operate within our constraints to the best of our ability. Even as a small company, Lim Collection recognizes both its duty and potential to generate a positive impact. Nevertheless, there are occasions when we encounter limitations that hinder the full realization of our objectives. Nevertheless, we remain in a state of constant evolution, continually seeking novel ways to improve and establish ourselves as a responsible brand. We invite you to hold us accountable should we fall short of our aspirations.

We acknowledge that the utilization of leather is a contentious matter. However, we have consciously chosen this material due to its inherent durability, resistance to wear, and its graceful aging properties. It is far from being a disposable material that ends up in landfills after only a few uses.

We Promote Responsible Consumption
The fashion industry has long operated as a colossal machinery, characterized by excessive consumption, overproduction, and environmental pollution. These unsustainable practices have persisted for too many years, contributing to the degradation of our environment. It is an outdated and perilous approach to business.

Every Product is Ordered
We adhere to the Made-to-Order (MTO) model, a practice that effectively reduces overproduction by ensuring that each product secures a dedicated owner before production commences. MTO also curtails overconsumption by eliminating excess inventory, affording you the opportunity to deliberate thoughtfully before making a purchase, rather than succumbing to impulsive decisions. Through these measures, we collectively mitigate the depletion of natural resources and the emission of greenhouse gases.

Know Who Made Your Goods
Upon confirming your order, you will receive periodic email updates throughout the production phase, actively involving you in the process. These updates, along with a special booklet included with your purchase, provide an understanding of the steps involved in fulfilling your order, and introduce you to the remarkable artisans who invest their skill and passion in handcrafting your items.

Products That Last for Generations
Our products are meticulously handcrafted to withstand the test of time, with the intention that they can be passed down from one generation to the next. Rooted in timeless designs, they transcend fleeting trends and evolve into heirloom items. Products with a longer lifespan not only benefit your wallet but also contribute positively to the environment.

"This is my third pair from them, and I cannot be happier with their shoes. Style and quality. It takes some time for them to get in, but they are worth the wait. I'll be buying several more in the future."
- Lance H.

Controlling Our Impact

As a leather footwear brand, we maintain a profound awareness of how our business practices affect not only our employees and immediate surroundings but also the global ecosystem. Consequently, we undertake measures to minimize any potential adverse consequences.

Only Ethical Manufacturing Will Be Tolerated

Understanding the origins of your footwear is crucial. Have you ever wondered about the individuals responsible for crafting your shoes and the conditions under which they work? Regrettably, sweatshops continue to plague the fashion industry, subjecting workers to deplorable circumstances. These workers are often underpaid, or not compensated at all, endure harassment and discrimination, toil for extended hours in unregulated environments, and are exposed to unsafe and unhealthy conditions. We will always do our part to bring these practices to an end.

Our Artisans

The talented artisans who work hard to produce Lim Collection products are our greatest asset and we respect them as people. This is why we offer a comfortable and safe place to work, in addition to good wages and a benefits package. Included in what we provide to these workers is the following.

Benefits
• Healthcare
• Pension contributions
• 3 weeks of paid vacation per year
• Paid maternity leave for 12 weeks
• Secondary caregivers provided 8 days of leave
• Annual bonuses

Working Conditions

Choosing the Right Materials for the Environment
Climate change and environmental challenges present intricate issues influenced by numerous factors, including the fashion industry's utilization of toxic, non-biodegradable, or disposable materials. These practices not only inflict harm upon the environment but also exacerbate global crises.

Making Informed Material Choices
In our pursuit of responsible decision-making, we meticulously assess materials based on a diverse range of factors. These criteria encompass durability, land impact, considerations for human and animal welfare, traceability, safety, carbon footprint, ease of maintenance, post-use lifecycle, and biodegradability.

Acknowledging Leather's Role
In light of these considerations, we acknowledge the complex nature of leather as a by-product of the meat industry. After thorough deliberation, we have determined that it presents the most favorable combination of attributes across the aforementioned factors.

It is essential to note that not all leather is created equal. Following an exhaustive search and rigorous testing, we are committed to sourcing leather from an Italian tannery that has been honored with a prestigious Gold rating by the Leather Working Group (LWG).

Exemplary Leather Attributes
The leather we employ possesses a luxuriously soft texture, exceptional durability, and resists peeling or flaking. With proper care, it remains resistant to warping or damage, developing an enchanting patina over time. Additionally, skilled cobblers can expertly retouch or repair it when necessary.

Harnessing Natural Processes
Our commitment to environmental responsibility extends to our production methods, which incorporate natural components and processes. These include the use of natural waxes, water-based solvents, and dyes, as well as the application of vegetable tanning for our midsoles, outsoles, and stacked heels.

Eco-Friendly Adhesives
Non-Toxic Rubber Soles
Our shoe and sneaker rubber soles are crafted from natural rubber, blended with synthetic rubbers for enhanced toughness and white carbon black to prolong their lifespan. For our sneaker soles, we incorporate 20% recycled rubber. All our soles adhere to REACH specifications, ensuring the responsible production and use of chemical substances to safeguard human health and the environment, as mandated by the European Chemicals Agency.

Strategic Packaging to Reduce Harm

A significant majority, nearly 70%, of our valued customers, opt to preserve their shoes in the original shoeboxes. Notably, almost 75% of these customers either recycle the mailer box or repurpose it for storage purposes.

Our shoebox is a testament to our commitment to eco-friendliness, constructed from a blend of sustainable components:

• Crafted from sugarcane without the use of bleaching chemicals.
• Certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) to uphold responsible forestry practices.
• Manufactured using electricity sourced from Green-e certified wind energy.
• Earthpact Certified or composed of 100% recycled materials, further underlining our dedication to environmental sustainability.

How Does Our Business Work?

Lim Collections designs timeless, beautifully class products and adds them to our catalog regularly. With so many options to pick from, most buyers will have little trouble finding something they love.

We use a Made-to-Order model, or MTO, meaning we don’t make any shoes until those shoes have been ordered. Once your order is received, the process starts and tremendous care is put into the production of the shoes.

We use an MTO model because it cuts down on waste and delivers savings that we can pass on to you, the customer. Our prices would be much higher if we produced these high-end products on a mass scale and incurred the waste that comes along with such production.

There are more than 100 steps that have to be completed by hand. We do our production in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, where talented artisans take great pride in the work they do. While it will take eight to ten weeks for your shoes to be completed, that wait will seem short when compared to the many years of reliable service you’ll get from the product. Shipping, returns, and exchanges are all free.

Product

How are your products manufactured?
To produce quality, high-end shoes, we use a manual process that includes more than 150 steps. This process is more time-consuming than what is used by mass-produced brands, but the results speak for themselves.

Each pair of shoes requires a process that ranges from six to eight weeks. Once you receive your order, you will see how no shortcuts were taken and the product that we deliver is ready to stand up to daily use for years to come.

What Does Full Grain Leather Mean?
The term full-grain leather refers to the way the tanning process was completed. Specifically, there was no artificial correction used, meaning the natural integrity of the material was preserved. Using full-grain leather is advantageous because the outer layer maintains is flexibility and breathability in the finished product. In addition to practical concerns, full-grain leather also looks great thanks to its visible, open pores. Conditioning creams are nicely absorbed by full-grain leather, making it easy to care for and allowing it to build a beautiful patina over time.

Where are your shoes made?
We take great pride in crafting our products by hand in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. During an age when most things are mass produced and never touched by human hands, we still do things the traditional way – and the difference shoes in our finished product. If you’d like to know more about the production process, the video below offers some insight.

How do you source your materials?
We partner with leading tanneries in the world to source our full-grain calfskin leather. Therefore, the quality of the high-end leather footwear speaks for itself. The various other components required for our products come from quality providers in places like Morocco, Spain, Italy, and Japan, etc.

What do you use for soles?
The soles of our shoes and boots typically are made with veg-tanned, full-grain leather. This lends a stunning look to the shoe, and it also makes the shoes extremely comfortable and ready for years of service.

The process to produce these soles includes infusing a mix of materials such as quebracho, mimosa, and chestnut with the leather bends to compress the fibers. In the end, the structure of the fibers is malleable and able to be formed into a durable sole.

For shoes that aren’t suited to a leather sol, SBR rubber soles are employed to absorb shock and offer great traction.

The sneakers we offer have all-natural rubber soles to prevent wear and tear while also lending the shock-absorbing capabilities that are needed to get great performance. Unlike most other companies, we don’t glue the soles on – we stitch them for longevity and reparability.
